When creating a backyard bird habitat, it is easy to put all your focus on feeders and food. While this is important, an often overlooked area is a water source. A few years ago I discovered just how important moving water was to attracting birds. I set up a garden hose and let it drip water into a bird bath. The moving water attracted an unbelievable amount of birds: colorful warblers like Cape May, Black-throated Blue, and Chestnut-sided plus dozens of thrushes and other birds not drawn to bird feeders. The Water Wiggler makes creating moving water simple and efficient. Turn it on and place it in a bird bath or other shallow basin and it moves the water. This moving water helps prevent mosquitoes and is a magnet for birds looking for a clean place to bathe or stop in for a drink. Place a couple of these strategically around your yard and you'll see a much greater variety of species not normally thought of as "backyard" birds.
